My Kitsch Kitchen, Palma, November 18, 2016

A triviality,

On Tuesday afternoon I walked with Father Foc-Tea to Caixa Forum.

This colleague is a pain in the neck who did not stop to call me last week insisting that I must accompany him to the exhibition MING The Golden Empire, where he wished to introduce me to a friend, he said.

To my surprise the friend was another Italian visionary, the founder of Catholic missions in China.

A guy not very PC, nowadays.

Matteo Ricci was a priest, mathematician and astronomer, who elaborated the first cartographic work in Catay including the territories of Europe, Asia, Africa and America. An incredible world map called Kunyu Wanguo Quantu.

From November 3rd, 2016 until February 19th, 2017, an exciting period of China’s history will remain on display in the city of Palma. There are 126 objects from the Nanking Museum: ceramics, porcelain, paintings, textiles and enamel works that make up a magnificent exhibition curated by Tim Pethick. It is a shame that “La Caixa, Obra Social” has not published a catalog, undoubtedly, this exhibition deserves it.
